Shipping and Insurance

4.1 Handling of sensitive items

We follow myGermany packaging standards for sensitive lots:

• Paintings: corner protectors for frames and multilayer wrapping.
• Wine: bottles with cork closures must be positioned at a right angle to the direction of vehicle travel (to neutralise inertia that could push the cork out).
• Climate control: temperature and humidity must be controlled in the cargo area to prevent shrinkage cracks in wood and damage to canvas.

4.2 Value classification and insurance

CatchMe distinguishes Class 1 valuables (personalised valuables) and Class 2 valuables (antiques, fine art, collections).

Standard couriers usually decline liability for Class 2 items above a low value threshold. CatchMe ships exclusively through specialist carriers that accept full liability for Class 2 objects.

Insurance covers up to €50,000 per parcel, including restoration costs and loss of market value in the event of partial damage.

4.3 Storage and collection

Lots must be collected within 5 to 7 days. After this period a handling fee of €5 + VAT applies and a daily storage fee of €5 + VAT per lot.
